Fewer rings to chase. You still say yes.
Leady picks up the calls you cannot get to: while you check someone in, while you are on the other line, after you have gone home. It holds the booking in Open Dental and waits for you. Nothing is confirmed until you confirm it, unless your practice chooses otherwise.
Same desk. Fewer calls slipping past it.
Leady answers only when your practice told it to: after hours, in the busy hours you set, or after the number of rings you choose. The rest of the time, the phone is yours as it always was.
- 7:45 AM
Overnight, waiting
Two holds and a message from last night are in the queue before the first patient.
- 10:20 AM
Both lines busy
After four rings, Leady answers line 2 and holds a hygiene visit for you.
- 12:30 PM
Lunch
Your practice set 12:00 to 1:30 as busy hours, so calls go to Leady while you eat.
- 2:15 PM
Asked for you
A patient wants the front desk. During transfer hours, Leady hands the call to you.
- 6:30 PM
You go home
Forwarding covers after hours. Tomorrow's queue will say what happened.

What changes, and what stays yours.
Leady is a tool for the front desk. It does the part of the phone you could not reach, and leaves the decisions where they were.
What changes
- The missed calls have a recordEach call Leady answered has a time, a reason, an outcome and a transcript.
- Holds wait in one queueBookings from the phone sit in the portal until you confirm or decline them.
- Unanswered transfers become tasksIf a transfer rings out, the caller's reason becomes a callback task with a notification.
- Notes are already writtenLeady adds a communication log entry in Open Dental for the calls it books.
What stays yours
- You confirm bookingsHold for front-desk approval is the default. Your yes is what makes it final.
- Open Dental is still the scheduleLeady writes into it, at chair level, and never deletes from it.
- Your practice's rules, not oursWhat it may book, offer and refuse is written with your practice before a single call.
- Patients still reach youDuring the hours your practice sets, callers who ask for a person are transferred to you.
Every booking waits for your yes.
Unless your practice chose to book directly, a booking from the phone is a hold: it keeps the chair and waits for you.
Every hold is labelled
A real appointment in the chosen operatory, marked as waiting, with a note that says Leady held it and when.
Decline without cleanup
A declined hold moves to the Unscheduled List. Nothing is deleted, and the transcript shows what the caller asked for.
No double-booked chairs
Our booking engine refuses a second write to the same chair and time. The refusal is in our database, not left to luck.
What it passes back to you.
Some calls should reach a person. Leady knows which ones, because your practice wrote it down with us.
Warm transfer
During the hours your practice sets, calls come to you in the transfer order it chose. No answer becomes a callback task and a notification.
Emergencies
Urgent calls go to the on-call dentist, not to a queue. The agent is not a clinician and gives no clinical advice.
What it will not answer
No clinical advice, no prices beyond the practice's approved list, no balances. Those come back to you, with the caller's question written down.
Questions about Leady for front desks
See all questionsIs Leady meant to do my job?
No. Leady answers the calls you cannot get to and leaves the decisions with you. By default, every booking it makes waits for you to confirm it.
What does a hold look like in Open Dental?
A real appointment in the chosen chair, marked as waiting, with a note. The exact look is set up and checked with your practice at onboarding.
What if Leady misunderstood the caller?
Decline the hold in the portal. It moves to the Unscheduled List, and the transcript shows what was said, so you can call back knowing the story.
Do callers know they are not talking to me?
Yes. Leady is built to start every call by telling the caller they are speaking to an automated assistant and that the call is transcribed.
What happens when a caller asks for a person?
During the hours your practice sets, Leady transfers the call to your team. If nobody picks up, it becomes a callback task with the reason.
Which languages does it speak?
English today. More languages will be offered as each one is tested.
